I have reason to believe the high is in for today and that we'll trade towards 2850 and most certainly close below 2857. At least that's my basic prediction at the time being. 
The way I look at gaps, we still have an open gap (untraded prices) from the cash close on Monday at 2850,50. Partially filled, but not quite.
I think the all time highs will be tested, but since we've covered a lot of ground to the upside these last days, it might be that we'll need to pull back a bit here before going higher.
Or maybe not...

That's where we differ. I don't look at closing price for gaps. I look at high and low. Where someone would see 2850.40 gapping to the open on Tues of 2855.92, I see price gapping from 2853.29 on Mon (high) to the open and low of Tues at 2855.92.
