Here is one for you. You borrow from your Mom & Dad 50 bucks, head of to the mall and spend 45 bucks, on the way back you bump into a friend and lend him 3 bucks, get home and give 1 buck each to your folks. So you owe them 24 each now or 48 total plus 3 bucks that your friend gives you back. Question: where did extra 1 buck come from?

You received 45 dollars of goods and 3 dollars of money to loan. When the friend pays you back you'll have 48 dollars of goods/money and you repay that. There is no extra dollar. In effect, you borrowed 48 dollars from parents.
