ES Journal - 2015

I see possible ranges everywhere, lol

IMO, the tradable ranges will be most easily identified using a larger bar interval, e.g. 15 to 60 minutes. There are "ranges" everywhere all day long on smaller bar interval charts, and it is easy to miss the forest for the trees lol.

Three important rules of the ES Journal are worth mentioning again here:

1) Personal attacks are not allowed

2) Foul language is not permitted

3) Trades posted without stops are disregarded for journal integrity purposes

--Thank you for your consideration-- Izzy

(Ditch, please adhere to these. I have several on ignore now and I don't want to enter you as well. This is not the place for personal attacks. Thanks)

Long NQ 4344
stop at 40

Just out of curiosity, the NQ had been hugging 43 for 90m by the time you bought. What if you had bought earlier? How long would you have held it before abandoning the trade? Or would you have just walked away and left it to itself?

YOu mean if I had have bought at 45 or so?
I'd have probably closed myself out for -3 or so. I don't tend to just walk away without having a stop of some sort in place

No, where you bought. And since your stop was at 40 you wouldn't have been out anything unless you raised your stop. My question had to do with how long you were willing to give the trade to "ripen". You bought at the end of the 90m it spent at 43+/-. What if you had bought at the same price with the same stop only 90m earlier?

Then the second option. (walk away and leave it too itself)

And nothing wrong with that. The longer you sit there staring at it, the more likely you are to get impatient and exit unnecessarily. If nothing else, you can turn your attention to some other instrument while the NQ trade percolates.

GC (gold) stopped me out and then plummeted in my direction.
Been an amazing day so I'm not too angry about it, but still annoying.
In at 51, stopped at 53, and it then plummeted down. I know I could have re-entered, but I often get chopped to pieces when I start playing that game!
