Size you use is related to risk. Nothing wrong with larger stops, as long as you adjust sizing accordingly.

Only problem I see is that if you are used to using 1-2 cars in say 15min bars, you cannot exactly use .10 car if trading off a daily or higher timeframe, unless you use SPY or options.
 
It's all about risk management. If you trade too large a size for your comfort it'll cloud your thinking. I'd rather trade 1 contract comfortably and profitably than bite off a larger piece and make dumb mistakes because too much is at risk and i'm worried about a large loss. And yes i often trade a single contract of ES or NQ, sometimes 2 in a trending market like today.
