Hey Forty,
I recently read your Observations thread and you made this comment which I thought was quite profound.
"I found it to be the most fruitful study of my adult life"
Would you mind elaborating on this comment and why you feel it has had such an impact.
Its a shame that thread was shut down, I really enjoyed it.
Kindest Regards
Thank you for the kind thoughts.
It is a shame, but there, as here (and apparently everywhere and anywhere that I might post on ET I have acquired a stalkertroll, who rather than learn to trade has made it is his life's mission to prevent me from participating as freely here at ET as most others are free to do. Someday, once I am sure ET's troll controls are fully functioning, or my stalkertroll abandons his vendetta, I may start another journal.
As for observations, here is what I shared with a couple of my friends in private threads this morning before the open:
"Today is FOMC/Fed day - news at 2PM EDT. These days tend to settle into a narrow range until the announcement, and can be quite choppy. Sometimes, yes, they surprise us and we'll see either a large tradable range or even a BO and trend, but
most of the time, the opportunities can be slim until the afternoon. My preferred trading levels are the blue lower level and the upper magenta level. The lower magenta I will consider. I will also watch the upper and lower limits of this premkt range -
levels which as we speak have yet to be set firmly. Most days, I take a trade right at/near the open. Yesterday, I did not take my first trade until nearly 11:30.
I am not in a hurry to trade today either. It has to be a good set up."
And below is the chart I shared with them at the time. These are levels that have significance to
me. What anyone else does or does not do, makes or does not make of them matters not to
me. In other words, the intelligent will note that this
does not constitute a "call" in any sense of the word. It merely constitutes me sharing how I organize past information for potential future decisions. The belligerent will see it otherwise.
