ES Journal - 2014

they all got their pros and cons. if you're saving on commissions, you're probably spending somewhere else. Seems to be one of the best overall. Cost-wise at least.
My monthly overhead:
Sierra Chart: $27
CQG feed: $10
CQG execution fees: $10

Then you get under $3.44 r/t, from the very first contract. Goes down if you start doing serious volume, but let's not go there for calculating this. You get full feed, decent execution, on demand data backfill... I am not sure if any desired feature is missing. And SC is very programmable if you are into that

And this is no bucket shop. DeepDiscountTrading / Crossland Wedbush. I DO NOT lose sleep at night that my FCM would take my money and decamp. They require no introduction in ET

NO! It doesn't and that's my point (no pun intended) of all my rants!

You said you wanted to make 1 point a day, that's about 20 points a month. But i just lost 14 points... which to you means a lot. But I look at the actual money lost which was v little in percentage terms. So there is no standarization of performance whatsoever! It's a fucking meaningless comparison!!!!

rant over, I start my summer vacation to the Caribbean tomorrow and wanna get in da mooood
I mostly agree with much of what you say, but I would disagree a bit on this. Your MM techniques are keeping you out of trouble, but points taken do matter. Some people post that that they have got 5 points in ES today, say. We don't know with how many contracts per. We don't know on what account balance. The over all $ & % figure is missing. But the entries & exit are still valuable, if you trade like that using a similar strategy. Yes, it does not provide any indication of the risk taken and if the strategy is viable long term, but good entry & exit is still valuable. Me thinks.

I said I wanted to average 1 pt/day. It's not the only thing you should look at, but it's not meaningless. If trader A averages 1pt/day and trader B averages 2pts to me that means B is more effective at extracting profit from that particular market, for whatever reason.

IB is 1.70 r/t for futures. goes down to 1.30 if vol>1000 contracts.
10$ data fee is waived if comms exceed 30$
