So, what is the best way to take 1-4 months long exposure on VIX to profit from an uptick?

well for me, i roll long front vix and short back vix..its tricky and you bleed a lot..but when u hit ..it reall pays. btw, lately its been brutal long front vix.
there is no easy sure thing..but thats what i do.

I hope your right and THINK you ARE right about that. History never repeats itself exactly. Trading today is different, the market and economy are in a different place. I'm certainly hoping for movement even if the vix doesn't reach an extreme ( in either direction). What has been interesting and different is we have gone down and up as much as 15-20 pts without much movement in the VIX. Could be because so many people are trading the vix and its proxy's and most didn't back then.
I know who would like to see the VIX trade a 9 handle and that is the fed....

Definitely not me, as a trader I would consider it horrendous volatility.
trend day up against res in dow and trans, they are loading here since that 60k+ rally in volume and lack of a newer high,doesnt mean they can resist a short squeeze on the mid/late afternoon to load at better prices,let the retail pay up and allow them to add more,expecting a dip tween 11 and 12 30 central for a reduce
