ES Journal - 2014

Quote from ammo:

25 cash is the spx, touch of 32 means you wont get filled on the offer if thats the high so you sell the bid of 31 75, stop is if the es gets to 49, es is the future trading about 5.5 -6 points under the cash, so 25 cash is equivalent to appx 19 es

thats so cool, can't wait till i earn the right to talk the talk

now, i just say short here, long there

Short 31.75 on the 32 touch. Target of 25 cash, 19 futures. SL at 49 futures.

What's the reasoning behind the risk to reward on this trade ?

Well it's not terrible, but obv not 1:1. I don't want to get shaken out prior to NFP. I give it a 1/3 chance of touching 19.00 before NFP. Quant-wise, it's the best signal to noise I've seen in two months. We'll see.

Are you short ES, and from where? I'm still confused.

I'm still learning...where my confusion is "SPX cash"..what is that and how does it differ from ES futures?

You don't quote both? SPX and ESH4. My targets are based upon the cash index (SPX) and translated to ESH4. I am short in a swing-trade looking for 19.25 futures (1819.25). We leave off the big figure as it's assumed ppl will know where ES is trading. I will be out on my target on a touch of 19.25 on futures.

I trade a lot of ES but primarily as a Delta1 hedge against my volatility positions (options).

Cash is trading ~six over futures.
