ES Journal - 2013

Quote from NoDoji:

My method is for intraday scalping, by the way; I wouldn't be looking to take a swing short position right here in the middle of a potential range.

I scalp the ES and on certain days when possible, I try to hold through most of the day on trend days. I don't, nor will I ever trade off 1 min charts. But I do look at them from time to time. 3 min and 5 min are my entry charts but I look at most other higher TF charts. Every TF chart has its benefits and provides clues. Your idea of looking at 1 min chart after a market opening dump might provide me with more of a heads up of one of these zero pullback down trends.

For optimal R:R entries in a strong trending move, I haven't found anything better than the 1-min pullback method. Beats watching the whole thing run without you

Also, many day traders use these small pb's to add to their winners instead of in-and-out scalping.

Sometimes the best position is sitting on your hands

This is a demon that even veteran traders sometime struggle with

When in doubt stay the f$ck out

Just an observation.

1) Tomorrow, 12/12/13 is rollover.
2) Based on RTH charts, ES and TF have filled and YM and NQ are in process, near completion, of filling recent open "new high" level gaps.
3) Sizable downside gaps remain at SIGNIFICANTLY lower levels, IMO likely to remain open, unless...
