ES Journal - 2013

LONG 1713

I have a sell signal here.
I will regret this as the ES tends to ignore all sell signals and go up, but I will close this long here for BREAKEVEN and look to get long again at a better price, hopefully

I'm short from 14.5 with a stop at 18.5 and objective of 1701

What's your target and timeframe ?

Tia

The SPY hold is simply riding the wave and unlimited fed intervention. cost average is very low. will sell down 1800-1860.

I post the spy buys as they are where I see decent long term entries.

scalping and small swing ES....can't stomach the chop on more than a few contracts.

You confuse ego with confidence

My point was it takes balls to sell when everyone is buying and vise versa

Ego is what keeps one afraid of being wrong on the trade

Even if you are a trend trader your entry is contrarian as you buy weakness or sell strength

75% of the time fading a gap is profitable
The other 25% is what a stop is for.

Paul Tudor Jones is a contrarian trader
You think that is just coincidence ?

I apologize for being an ass in the previous post

The other 25% is for trading in the direction of the gap and not fading it. :)

Paul Tudor Jones is famous for picking tops and bottoms, but he used a 'tight' stop and were willing to be stopped out many times until he were proven right and got paid.

No worries. :)

long 1716

Annoyed that I was in from a better number and very stupidly took notice of a sell signal.
If I could program, i'd take my system, and make it 'ignore' sell signals altogether on the ES (but still trade 'both ways' on CL)

Still onwards and upwards. Imagine we'll see 1740-1750 within a few sessions

The market won't even pull back more than a single point. Kind of ridiculous actually.

If the market does not stop and attract some selling at 1724-25, maybe that gap below will be left behind for a while?
