did you know a great deal of the sp500 gains come in afterhours?

markets reward risk takers

earnings

econ news

uncertainty

etc.

Quote from Laissez Faire:

You're the one with the ego here, Volente. I'm indebted to you for offering me guidance when I was greener than the grass over the septic tank, but that does not mean I'm not allowed to disagree with you now or that you could even learn a thing or two from me. :)

I could post a few paper trades, but I don't see what the purpose would be. If I offer my opinion about where the market is going in real time, surely that has to be more valuable for the forum and those reading?

I posted what I posted both as a reminder to myself and others reading, since I've learned that blindly fading a gap is a losing strategy.

Best regards.

You confuse ego with confidence

My point was it takes balls to sell when everyone is buying and vise versa

Ego is what keeps one afraid of being wrong on the trade

Even if you are a trend trader your entry is contrarian as you buy weakness or sell strength

75% of the time fading a gap is profitable
The other 25% is what a stop is for.

Paul Tudor Jones is a contrarian trader
You think that is just coincidence ?

I apologize for being an ass in the previous post
