ES Journal - 2013

Quote from Lord.Maushi:

Not every trade can be a winning one. No sane person will judge you out of just one trade that did not reach the intended target.

Ultimately how we deal with our winners and losses is what ultimately define us as traders, and everything in plural.

true, true. thanks.

Yes I noticed you have been an extremely active poster. You have to your credit a solid 187 posts over a 10 year ET career. That amounts to like 1.5 posts a month. :D

Jokes apart, Curious in a nice way - How have been last 10 years in the market? What do you trade other than ES?

it's been great. though i'd say the best times were 2007 and 2008. made most of my equity in those years. 2009 and onwards have been ok, but we are facing a different market, given the algos, hft's, qe's, etc.

the ES is my main focus, but i dabble in other things once in a while (NQ, DAX, eurostoxx, currencies, metals)

what happened to ammo? the last 6 months one of most straight up mkts ever. he'll never say it but i'll bet the house he was margined out. Theres no way to survive scaling the short side to infinity like he did.

according to last few posts he actually reduced at 54...was averaged at 40 and added at 64 which simply means IF...and thats a big if he could have held for a couple of weeks he would have been fine. The problem as you point out is if you are margined out you will essentially be wiped out. However he could always have bought an OTM futures call(s) to reduce said margin and cling to his shorts until he was made whole.

prying minds want to know!!!:)
