Add 1516

offering at 1518, 1519 to get flat

closed the 2 adds at 1517.5

still keeping the original long open, looking to close and get flat around 1518.5

I sold at 1518.25 and am flat now. This was looking like an ugly trade, but managed to be flat for basically no gain no loss.

nothing wrong with that, better then a loss

Yup true. Thank You! Been at this game for 4+ yrs now, but I still get stressed when faced with the possibility of taking a large loser. Even though I should just concentrate on trading the long-run expectations and not worry about trade-to-trade result. Probably, I need a year or two more to become ice-cold in my trading. :)

How are things with you? You haven't been posting much on the thread of late.

regarding your 2-4 tick scalp trades,

1) for how long you have been doing them?
2) do you have backtested history for such kinds of trades for a long time period? if yes, how far back have you tested these kinds of trades.

Reason I ask is because I have tried to construct such 4 tick profit strategies, and they work exceedingly well (go up in a straight line and will have 20 consecutive wins) but then say 1.5yrs ago, there will be periods when there will be 3-4 big losses and in 1 month, I will lose 3-4 months of PL. So, now I try to construct strategies with a win:loss of at least 0.5:1.

Hey Lespaulr0cker,

Do you have some comments on this post and the 2 graphs that I attached yesterday. Since you are obviously successful doing 3-4 tick scalping on ES, I am pretty curious to hear your thoughts.
