ES Journal - 2013

Quote from pfranz:

As the position is multi-days,so I thought were orders:if you say you add at 1819,you do it even after the day you set the level.

Yes, my positions have been for the most part multi-day this year due to low volatility. Nevertheless, I should've been more clear regarding the time frame for exiting the order on that day.

Did anyone catch this massive late day move???

Huge 3 pt sell off in the Russell futures. Massive volatility!

Still holding a whole -1 from 1808.5

Not trading live until 2014. Just doing sim for rest of year, then the band will be live performance again. Taking a break, to do a major tuneup, lol

To answer her question: I was up a whole tick in GC and + 21 ticks in CL, was up 2 1/2 handles (10 ticks) in ES. Casually traded, even took a nap. 1 car each in GC and CL, 8 cars in ES.

I saw the late drop in ES and decided to leave it alone as the time was late. Tempted to jump in, but did not, sure enough could have tagged the mkt for another 4 ticks.........BUT, when I see the '20' was not "BENT" enough I decided to just watch.

The problem with taking a late pop after a dull day is a big bar can just as easily get slammed back, the reward to risk is not at least 60/40%.

PS: martingale is NOT risky IF you do it once in a loser to get back to even...........the mental part is you MUST know you will not be upset if it does not work and simply lunch the whole trade and redo what you always do.

CORRECTION CL +22 ticks LOL!!
