Bad trades, price rarely comes back to let you get out.

Good trades, price rarely comes back from being profitable at the outset.

True direction, False direction can be elucidated on which parties get to exit. And if your allowed to exit from a bad trade at break-even, it means you shouldn't.

Spectre,

You seem to have a good knowledge overall. Curious, how much money did you make in 2010, 2011 and 2012? Are you profitable or do you also fall among the 95% who think they can make money but are still to make any real money?

2009 - 2010 , I went through a divorce and was reckless with my life, bought sportscars and ducati's.. Had 4 vehicles to my name. During that period I didn't trade much. I was a local in '95-96 Chicago pits trading T-Bond Futures, I cleared through Singer/Wenger.

Trading requires dedication and drive and when your going 140mph on a ducati it puts things in perspective. Right now working on setting up a API witha clearing firm to get better fills and be localized to exchange. Staying humble is my core.

With experience, I have grown extremely skeptical of most people's ability on ET to make consistent money. I have also realized that a lot of guys on ET are very young (college students) who really have no bankroll at all. Also there are a lot of paper traders here. When I started using ET, I used to think a lot of people here are very successful and are profitable traders, but with experience I learnt otherwise. I also see that there are a lot of vendors and sharks out here on ET trying to profit from fresh meat.

You will see me frequently asking other posters if they are making money or not. My intention is not to insult anyone in particular, but people should be willing to say if they are making money or not. Helps in separating chaff from the wheat.

Hi There, Thanks for the excellent history. Traders with experience like you are valuable on this board. I hope my other post to ammo will help clarify why I asked you this question. Cheers.
