Late reply, sorry. Wanted lower for larger position, but oh well.

To you and Dan: Was your entry signal there based on the pivot level?

Rising Ema and TSI drops into a zone+/-10 (pullback) on one minute was at 1410.25(ema), wait to buy at it and risk couple ticks during lunch. I am mainly scalper, so lunch is often very good profits for me.

You mean prior? No. Basically 2day range 50%, low-volatility environment, and expectations surrounding the news.

Nice.

Thx, I still have pivot levels on my ES chart from way back in the day and price found support there to the tick.

You'll be taking a nice vacation on your trade :D

For some reason I am always willing to go long much quicker than short. But when I asked if anyone got long around 1402, I was looking at the gap fill to the PDC level. It went below then went above. Plus, I had done some earlier calculations telling me market could go down to the 1301 level, so I should have had more confidence getting in the trade.

Pivot on what timeframe? To my mind new pivots generally replace older ones in terms of importance, especially internal ones (inside the recent range, on any TF). :)

NoDoji, you talking about these?

Pivot Level: (High + Low + Close)/3

Once the Key Pivot Level is known, the support and resistance levels can be calculated using the previous day’s high and low numbers.

R3: R1 + High – Low
R2: PL + High – Low
R1: (2 x PL) – Low

PL: (High + Low + Close)/3

S1: (2 x PL) – High
S2: PL – High + Low
S3: S1 – High + Low

I stopped using them some years back as they didn't offer low enough losing percentages for my style of trading and as older traders retire, many of new traders use them even less. IMO.
