Not sure his reason but you can scale out in SPY. To scale out in ES you need multiple contracts and that means mucho money.

BTW for any watching the markets at this hour, why the hell is ES up 9 handles (low to high) in Asia? I see some mumbo jumbo about a weak yen, blah blah, but any other reason?
