A few years ago, the Forest Service realized that their aggressive fire-fighting policies were hurting forests. Natural forest fires, it turns out, were essential for preserving a healthy ecosystem.
At some point, one hopes in the not-too-distant future, our policymakers will come to view selloffs in the same light.

At least the market moved down to support, then back up to resistance, and then stopped. I hate the one-directional days that creep up little by little with 4 hours of sideways in the middle. At least this market moved, and had somewhat predictable retracements and was generally well behaved. Now FRIDAY, on the other hand, was a different animal. That was just a waste of time.

In the end ammo, the money flow / delta can be interpreted different ways; the only thing that can't be interpreted subjectively is the price traded. As a general rule, I'd rather be buying when the delta is positive, and when TICKs are positive. After all, it takes a buy at the market to move the market up (ignoring illiquid scenarios here where a market sell order can move the last traded price up). And when the majority of stocks in the NYSE are ticking up, it's going to be difficult for the index to move down substantially. So, I think delta or WSJ's money flow can be used to gauge overall sentiment. However, negative money flow or delta, even over a substantial time frame like a day, with price rising, does not mean the market is "weak" necessarily, IMO. In the end, it's just another piece of the puzzle that possibly serves to distract more than it helps.
