Here's my proposal. No more real-time posting of trades.

I think that's the whole point of the thread, though.
With just 'analysis' as you suggest, it will turn into the same sort of threads as those on forexfactory and the like; just analysis, where people cover all the bases, and later claim that their analysis was good no matter what whey the market went, lol. It becomes ridiclous.

It's good as it is in my opinion. Realtime trades. People who just post after-the-event trades tend to get put on ignore by everybody within a few weeks, anyway, so it's not really an issue as far as im concerned.

I like seeing who is actually a really good trader, based on their realtime calls.
at the mo Volente, Jesterofmalice, laissez-faire have all impressed me from memory.

Maybe so. But unless someone posts every single one of his/her trades in real time, you really can't evaluate the validity of his/her method.

With respect to folks like Volente and Wave, I've yet to see anything in their calls that's much better than random. (Wave is particularly absurd, floating into the forum with delphic pronouncements, then vanishing when he's wrong--I believe he most recently called for a short in the 1320s with a target in the 1230s.) At least Volente, with his "DEMTDAYBOYZ" jabber, is entertaining. And he does offer some solid nuggets of insight. Moreover, I remember seeing a Volente-something-or-other trading system on Collective 2 a little while back; if memory serves, performance-wise it was a train wreck, but bully for him for putting it out there. Wave, on the other hand, is all secretive pretense. I now have Wave on ignore.

Now consider Larry Chan, a marvelous resource, despite the fact that he never posts a single live (or dead) trade. Or Ammo, who does post his trades but also distinguishes himself with marvelous volume profile and trendline analysis. Bigsnack, JoshDance, et al, also offer up much grist-for-thought. These guys keep me coming back; I don't know if they trade well, nor do I really care.

But whatever.

posting trades................................too easy.

1) be honest (not easy for some).

2) Post when you make the trade. It takes about 8 seconds to type long 08.25, tgt 15.75, stop04.

3) elaborate if you can. most can see the setup when they glance back at their screen. scalps are harder, swings are easy (gfibs/s/r/poc val vah, trendline etc,

4) avoid over the top predict and run bullshit one-liners, "We are gonna explode soon!" "If you can't make money on this easy market you should not be trading", "buy the close and sell the open 78% of the time (my favorite).

i would assume that many trades do not get posted because like me, the focus on the trade is a helluva lot more important than impressing a forum group. Especially true for time based and very short duration scalps.

In the end you have to look in the mirror

Oh, I see the truth in your lies
I see nobody by your side
but I’m with you when you re all alone
And you correct me when Im looking wrong

I did post real time trades back when this thread was not that busy. That's a long time ago.

And entering trades on break of price levels drive others crazy so I stopped. =)

So this is what happens in here during a boring bull market? :D

We went through something like this not too long ago if I remember correctly. Again, the truth is that every single one of us could be completely full of $h!t, we'll never really know. Most of the thread is insightful analysis, with a handful of people making live calls often but not always. To top it off, we can razz eachother now and again to keep it fun. The late analysis seems to be tolerated as long as it's not accompanied by "Yeah I'm long from XX price".

I'm the firmest believer of no retail edge ever being ruined by sharing on a blog or forum, especially on the ES of all instruments. If a newcomer starts posting charts, they should be able to give us a heads up on where they typically get in and WHY. What's the reasoning and what is the typical exit? What's the success rate? etc. At least we will all understand eachother's logic a bit more.

As far as the "trade what you see" reading materials go, I perused them yesterday, and found a lot of it discussing flat out fading the end of patters instead of trading the continuations of patterns. That seems to be a more difficult venture to me, but I'm sure with the right management it can be done.

fading the ends or trading the turns sounds tough but you know right away if you are wrong,or at least your stop doesn't get hit while we get a slow turn, trading the middle of a supp/res zone is suicide for a newbie, with hft's scalping it's you against a computer, the small losses are hard to make up with the once in a while 2 or 3 pointer ,a few posters in here are grabbing nice scalps,i;ve been trying it for the last several weeks, like a new guy,it's tough, been losing on that experiment, looking forward to max's and anyone else offering to shed/share fresh light in this low volatiliy..hope all this frustration is spent and we move ahead to trading profitably..exp week..tread lightly
