The ES generally only gets one decent size move per RTH session from 9:30 - 11:30 AM ET. The rest of session is generally robots chopping the ES in a very narrow range. I don't know someone can consistently be profitable in 2 to 3 point ranges. If you can be profitable in such narrow ranges, then great, but I know I can not.

one final add, short @ 69 now.

Will take off a portion at 67.00, and it seems unlikely but 60.00 would be a nice final target.

Or, shorts will just keep getting squeezed and will be out higher for a big loss.

Josh, while we have a pretty quiet market I would like to ask a couple of questions related to your "Sim trading".I glance at your results without thinking about them.

Did you set up your sim account to account for commissions?

The leverage you use from time to time , is that comparable to what you would be doing with a real money account?

The stops, especially the bigger ones, are they what you would normally do in your trading account.

I am trying to get a feel for what it is your are trying to do.

Commissions -- yes

I overleveraged a bit earlier, which is why I reduced when it got back to breakeven, to simulate what I more likely would do.

I have struggled with the stops question. I am trying out some different things with respect to stops.

The real issue is that I am basically being lazy in my trade selection right now, and it's affecting how I prefer to trade (small stops, usually 2-3 points max). Once I regain focus, I will be more choosy and in sync with the market.

My current trial is to start with 1 unit, and then add as it goes in my favor, but due to poor trade selection I averaged down earlier, and that is NOT how I want to trade.

Are you relating the "2-3 point" profits to the period after 11.30 or for the whole day?

No, I am talking the afternoon have a tendency to chop in tight ranges with no real overall movement from point A to B.

Yes, even though today is an 8 point range since 11.30 , it seems to be dull. It all depends on the individual set up though. These can be useful for the likes of ammo, whereas I don't have anything going on and not likely to.

Good trading, y'all.
