sounds like i'\m picking on ya but really trying to beat down your ego before the market has a chance, and keep thread freindly, gotta say your words are cocky but your trades are disciplined

ok, i have an academic question for anyone willing/able to answer:
why is it that net buying pressure can be a sign of distribution rather than accumulation (and vice-versa for net selling pressure). i know that it can be (i've observed it), but i can't wrap my mind around the principle at work here. if there's more buying than selling, how can there be net distribution?
what am i not getting here? thanks
Quote from JoshDance:
There's not more buying than selling. There are more market buy orders, that's all. Read some Wyckoff if you want more on this; heavy volume indicates participation, and buying at the top, for example, is not what the deep pockets do, so they'll sit on the offer and distribute their inventory while those late to the party buy high.
Accumulate low, mark up the price, distribute high, then mark down, repeat.

For those of you who are consistently doing well in this market, why must it be so damn hard for me right now? I am frustrated because I buy early, like my last trade, and get taken out. Then I patiently wait, and place my limit, and do not get filled. Now buyers aggressive. Seriously, let me have it. Tell me all the problems I have because I have a LOT of problems. Did great the last two weeks, this week can't trade for shit. Please slam me in classic ET fashion and make me want to quit; that's the kind of talking I need right now I think. I love trading but when I miss orders by a tick like I did on the long earlier at 74.75, I just lose my mind. Help me please, thanks.
