Doesn't the market have to officially open before we have a gap?

Semantics maybe? I agree with you fwiw, but I think he's suggesting the gap that's setting up for the open can be traded in pre-mkt.

On another note, our old friend the failed triangle break has made its triumphant return today ... twice.

Quote from Handle123:

For those who have not traded for very long, normally after huge range days, there is a ton of chop. Just simple trendline bounces work very well. Risk next to nothing, and keep eye on price action, S/R, and take profit.

If your gig is fading 13 levels, you could have pretty much faded any bar close today and made money. :)

18 ticks wide in RTH today so far. Hopefully this'll be the last "summer Friday" for awhile.

A bit premature, but this market is setting up for a great short opportunity on German ratification on Wed. Short the reaction to the ruling, whatever it may be. It will be ratified, so expect a small pop of 5 ES and hit the bid.

ES must be an ATM machine today for those who scalp with very large positions. Who has access to the Velocity leader board, betcha Max or Dow are up $400K.

After a 21-pt range day obviously there's to be some contraction. But personally I can't do much with a 4 pt range, not having a clue in advance that it'd be THAT small (and not having the name "Handle123"). And I did have a short @ 37.50, but only for a scalp. I mean we haven't traded outside of the 1st 15-min NFP bar for Pete's sake!

On the other hand, your baby CL trended well today. I'm a little surprised too, after 3.00 of good trend yesterday.
