ES, 6E, Cl

Since size is not an issue -- I wish it were -- I take it that the tendency ES has to retrace makes it the least attractive to you. Why do you trade CL over 6E ... is it just volatility? And is the volatility more important than "clean" to you?

Yes, I'm more of a momentum/breakout trader, so I like volatility with swift strong moves and very little retrace. I trade CL because I've spent over a year with it now (and traded it live for 7 months) and I know it really well. I'm as comfortable trading it as I am engaging in a conversation with a good friend.

I started investigating 6E very recently because it trades much like crude and is often even cleaner technically. I will very likely be trading both in the near future.

6E and CL clean?

Thanks for the chuckle.

Although today was the "filthiest" day I've ever traded in CL for my particular trading style, it was still clean enough to show me over $100/contract profit on 75% of my trades, and allow me to end the day green.

Just took a look at today's five minute CL. Tough day to end green. Nice work.

I prefer the slower fractal nature of the 6E over that of the CL.

ES shows more noise over the 6E,CL on the 5 minute time frame due to back filling

Thanks. I was so frustrated after 20 trades that I finally caved and settled for less than 20 ticks on the last one. If we pass the medical marijuana proposition today, I'll be in line for my Rx :p
