Erroneous real time bar data from IB server

I experienced (within this week) several times receiving erroneous price data and several times receiving wrong volume data from realTimeBar event. However the historicalData event gives more smooth and accurate (I supposed) data. My charting program may give wrong signals with these troubled erroneous real time data. Anyone has experience on this issue? Pls suggest some other real time data source or any round about. Many thanks.

I experienced that too. It sucks, it really sucks. The bar on the charts can get screwed up when you open the program. Ib software is a weakness - the improve one part and screw others, frequently

Here's what i did that fix temporarily the problem (until you close tws and open it again): go to the chart that has the problem and change the time period (for ex: from 1 day to 2 days). Then change back to the time frame you want - that should fix it
