Ergotron Stand Question

Does the Ergotron DS-100 quad-monitor stand need to be bolted down? Or does it stand on its own? I can't seem to find an answer to that question, and I assume that means it needs to be secured. Are there any quad stands (square arrangement) that stand on their own?

The Ergotron quad stand does not need to be secured, it does stand on its own.
