Er2

Quote from bluebolt:

Emini S&P Midcap 400 is the only one that moves like the ER2 and gives the same bang for buck

But volume is around 30 thousand a day compared to ER2 300 thousand a day

You'll have to hope everyone jumps on it come August
That's not true. It's the S&P Small Cap 600 that correlates to the tune of 0.996 on price vs. the ER2.
The CME is pushing the Small Cap 600 as the "replacement" contract. The Midcap 400 may move like the ER2, but it is not of the same composition.

What happen when ER2 move to ICE?

See Futures Magazine - June edition.
This is a huge test of the ICE platform.
If they screw this up, it will be bad news for ICE.
If that happens, everyone will go back to the CME Globex platform and trade the S&P Small Cap 600 index contract as the replacement.

What is the CME ticker for S&P Small Cap 600 index contract?

Thanks.

CME should be pushing the Mid Cap 400 instead of the Small Cap 600. It already has a lot more volume. Friday had about a 13 pt range vs. about a 7.5 range on SMC. I have no idea what the avg range is for either contract though.

Agreed. I decided to trade the 600 as a multi week trade, as volume is so thin. I hope it picks up as my er2 system is working well on it.
