I don't trade the news, but I'm curious...

When it comes to individual equities, where does news hit first? Then where next? How does it work behind the scenes for equities?

As a case study, consider today's news that MARA will have a Special General Meeting of Shareholders where there will be a vote to increase the number of available shares by 15,000,000.

I have a small position in MARA and received an email from IB at 13:21 ET. It appears the stock price had already adjusted from approximately 11:10 ET to 12:50 ET.

The Marathon Digital Holdings website still didn't have any information posted as of market close.

Would anyone with access to newsfeeds be able to do me a favor and look up when this news hit their feed? I would love exact times along with the news source and provider. I will summarize all results chronologically later in this post if there is enough of a response.

For what it's worth, I've never put much effort into news subscriptions, but I'm curious about this...

PS: No need to mention X, Y and Z are probably front running the official news announcement... I only care about publicly available news... ;)

I would imagine all the news comes out at relatively the same time. The stock probably adjusted before because markets are competitive, and mostly efficient, so the information gets disseminated into the price fairly quickly.

Maybe if you have a Bloomberg or Reuters you might get it a bit quicker?

I can't find ANY news item for the MARA SGM that came out on Aug 31... ??

Which newswire is most likely to have it?

I subscribed to the following through Interactive Brokers, with no luck:
- Dow Jones Real-Time News | North America

- Benzinga Breaking News via API | North America
... in addition to the long list of free news sources IB automatically provides.

Can anyone find a reference to the MARA Special General Meeting news that came out in their feed on Aug 31 and, if so, would you mind indicating the source so I can subscribe? Thanks.
