EOD data: free ok, or $=better data?

There are a lot of free or very cheap (under $20) eod data suppliers out there... using the portals (msn.com, yahoo.com) with hquotes or amiquote, sites like eoddata.com etc.

As IB does not supply EOD, to keep my charts utd, I need another supplier.

Is the free data substantially different from premium data.

Others have made very valid comments that we should NOT skimp on quality, in either data OR the software.

My question relates to the difference in EOD data from free versus premium suppliers: if a free and premium service have 1-, 5-, 15-, 60-minute intraday prices, WHAT OTHER FACTORS DO I NEED TO CONSIDER?
