I am looking for EOD prices for LA gasoline as shown here:
http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_pri_spt_s1_d.htm
(I don't want NY spot gasoline - I can find that).
The EIA data is 2 days late so I need a source of daily data. I've found LA gas on
http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3023-cashprices.html
but the prices don't quite match. I don't know why. For 10/16 WSJ has $3.1550
http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3023-cashprices-20121016.html
whereas EIA has $3.190 - that's a big difference.
EIA says it uses Reuters feed but I couldn't find LA gas prices on Reuters.com
I could use the WSJ data but it doesn't seem to work as well in backtest.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
