I don't follow Canada's statistics for WWI, WWII, or any other War.
Yet, I do remember three particular statistics that stood out to me about WWII:
1) Here it may be well to note that Canada’s population is only about
one-eleventh that of the United States at the time of the beach storming at Normandy, France. We have to multiply Canadian figures by eleven, therefore, to get the approximate American equivalent of Canada’s war effort.
2) Five-sixth of the Canadian military had volunteered to go to war. In comparison, 38% - 40% of the United States military were volunteers.
3) Canada declared War on Japan one day
before the United States after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Regardless, the landing of Normandy Beach was devasting to the allied forces although the United States and Germany suffered the most casualties.

I never thought about visiting Canada's War Museum in Ottawa, Ontario. One day I will.
In comparison, I've visited the United States WWII Museum down in New Orleans, Louisiana two times...once with my grandfather that served in WWII, and once with my old man when the museum opened its doors for the first time...about a year before my old man died and a few years before my grandfather died on my father's side of the family. Both of them are U.S. veterans and former military officers like I am.
Ignorant people degrade our veterans (you've seen one do such in this thread), some spit on them, even to this day but if someone takes the time to visit & talk to those that are still alive from the storming of Normandy, France...
it's a welcome eye-opener.
- They'll leave their bullshit at the door before spewing it online.
Regardless, two types that will make it on my ignore list very fast after I've stated what I have to say...the ignorant racists and the ignorant anti-veterans that pollute Elitetrader.com
They don't understand many of the freedoms they enjoy today are because of veterans.
