At the end of WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars all had recessions that followed the ending of war. The reason seems to be an end to government deficit spending causes a slowdown in the economy. If we end the war in Iraq next year this could prolong an economic downturn and perhaps make it worse. I don't have any answers but it is something I noticed could happen.
