emini ER2 Volume Concerns

Quote from increasenow:

does anyone share a emini ER2 volume concern as it moves towards being "removed" from CME in September 2008?...when do you expect the volume decline etc.???..noticed it traded almost 400,000 contracts yesterday 8/1/07...

I thought it was September 2008, not September 2007 >>>

Just got a message saying that starting tomorrow the ER2 contract will no longer be traded

I am aware of the change to ICE but I thought CME was going to trade it until September next year?!

If I were you I'd hope that IB switched to the ICE listing ASAP -- assuming that the volume and depth is there.

"NYBOT exchange and clearing fees for transactions on the ICE electronic platform for both the Russell 2000® full-size and mini contracts will be waived through September 2007."

I expect the CME will be about as agreeable in releasing their grip on the ER as a pitbull is in releasing their adversary, :).

Ice is going to have to earn every / any advantage they can get, it will not be handed to them. As such, I expect volumes to remain dominantly in the hands of and pass-thru the CME on the ER.

Yes, exactly.
Which I why I am very very surprised to get a message from IB that they will no longer offer ER2 on CME starting... TOMORROW
