Emerging markets up to 8.5 trillion from 5.1 trillion

Yea can only be "new money from the west". Can't be the trillions of Dollars the emerging economies already own and the billions they're making every year from trade surpluses.
 
yeah you are right. All those poor Chinese farmers and laborers were just sitting on trillions of dollars and decided that now was a good time to invest.

The article says that investors were all trying to jump on the emerging markets bandwagon. Sure some of that growth was stuff that they already own, but how much would it have grown if there was no money from the west.
