Embarrassing debate . A loud mouth clown and an old man who looks comatose

The debate was a train wreck but, once again, both candidates put enough information on the table and their particular style on display for America's enemies to know which candidate they want to see elected- even it is a difficult decision for some Americans.

Let's just say it is not a good sign when the Ayatollah and President Xi have Biden signs on their lawns. Ditto for our domestic enemies as well such as Antifa and BLM and Obama FBI and CIA personnel.

Only because they needed to find a voice outside the republican party. It was nothing more than a reaction to the northern rep party's opposition to slavery.
 
I asked a friend who is biased towards Trump because she made easy money the past three years what she thought of him now and she said "remember how I said I felt when you sent me that elf?".. (She said Trump was her best Santa ever)

She won't be voting now. Seems Trump has turned some people off him.

As a conservative and a registered republican (but one who is more Libertarian than anything else) I was thoroughly disgusted with the debate. I'll start with Biden, and then move to Trump.

Biden was an empty suit. Couldn't answer any question with substance. Stands for nothing, and half the time doesn't even understand what he stands for. Frequently says he doesn't support something but on his official site he does. Lied about things too numerous to mention. However, he did not fold. He didn't shut down, and he wasn't Dementia Joe. Probably because he simply didn't have enough uninterrupted time to speak.

Now on to Trump. All Trump had to do was sit there, on the high ground, and let Biden dismantle himself with empty rhetoric. Trump apparently never read Sun Tzu, but "never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Its a simple concept. But our Egoist-in-Chief simply can't let anything slide.. Everything has to be treated as if it is the enemy at the gates and deserves shouting responses and interruptions.

Several times I found myself shouting at the TV "Just shut the fuck up!" But he can't. He can't have anyone tell him anything and even had to get into arguments with Wallace. Who cares if Joe spouts lies that are easily refutable? Trump cares. Has to have the last word on everything. Buffoonery. And frankly I'm sick to death of it. Trump had just one lucid exchange that hit home, on Law and Order. That worked and I was happy to see it. Everything else was a travesty.

I had to explain to my 12 year old that this isn't the way adults should behave. How do you do this when you're talking about the two men - one who is President of the United States and the other who is running for the office? It was more Wrestlemania than a Presidential debate.

I'm sure people tried to coach Trump to not behave like that. But, because he's Trump, he has to do it his way.

So disappointed.

Biden won the debate. All had to do was not be the old Dementia guy and he did. Trump lost because all he had to do was let Biden speak without interruption, and he couldn't.

Thoughtful post but I think Trumpy had to challenge Biden because no one else would. He got under his skin and rattled him. And I agree Trumpy needed to STFU a few times when he didn’t.

A debate isn’t letting someone just speak uninterrupted for minutes on end of some rehearsed bullshit. I liked the back and forth. Unconventional but spirited. I hope it happens again.

There is back and forth, and then there is a bunch of orangutans throwing feces and screeching. This was the latter.

Go back and youtube a few videos of back and forth debates from past Presidential elections. I did. What a stark difference.

Actually the rules called for 2 minutes each.

if someone says something you dont like you get a rebuttal time slot, you dont have to interrupt every 10 seconds to jump on every word.
