Emails are just like Benghazi

I agree with her. Both Benghazi and the classified e-mails are very much the same. They show gross incompetence which borders on criminal negligence. A republican would already have been dead and gone, politically speaking. Please don't pretend it would be otherwise.

well now she has the machinery in place. When they start snooping around the Clinton Foundation she can just say, "It's just like emails and Benghazi."

Uhm people ARE in jail right now for far less egregious violations of their Personal Security Agreement dumbass.

The material was SAP/SAR which evidently you have zero experience with. Serious human sourced intelligence meaning there is someone possibly killed as a consequence.

Really, you folks cannot be allowed to run this country any longer no matter what it takes.

Not my area, but it must be frustrating for professionals to see the double standard that is set for the political class.

This email business is at this point a waste of time and money. It was worth looking into, as it would be a serious security breach to put classified documents on a less than secure server. Now, however, the emails have been reviewed, and the State Department, according to their spokesman, has determined that the few classified emails found on the Clinton Server were classified apparently quite recently, and not before they were received on the Clinton Server. Consequently, there is no breach to be prosecuted. And, as we all too well know, bad judgement alone will not land one in jail. Otherwise we'd all be in jail.

The State Department certainly ought to know when something is classified as they are the ones who make the decision as to whether a document should be classified. Even employees with relatively low level responsibility can initiate the classification process. In government service it is extremely easy to get a document classified, and a difficult process to get it unclassified. Classification, in my experience, is used almost as much to cover up mistakes or potential embarrassments, as it is to hide information that someone wanting to do harm could use.

I assume this was your attempt at humor. I don't believe any of your assumptions are correct.

The "classified later" excuse was an early diversion that is no longer operable. She had extremely sensitive material that was beyond Top Secret. It didn't get there by accident because the entire government system is designed to prevent that stuff from getting outside. Someone had to copy it by hand or take a picture of it, then send it to her. I'm curious to know who did that and why.

One thing the Clintons aren't is stupid. They had to know a private server was not secure, notwithstanding her claims that she barely knew how to turn on a computer, etc. They had top notch legal, government and tech people advising them all the way.

Is it possible highly secret government material was put on her server with full knowledge that it would be hacked?

you consider the the idea that they designed this email setup to operate outside the national security system - they were faced with 2 choices:

a. be as secure as possible, maybe even exceed govt standards since you were already skirting the law,
or
b. chose to be less than secure on purpose.

They chose "b".

Why? They had money.

the logical conclusion is that Clinton was selling occasional, accidental "access" or huma was providing it to her brother in the muslim brotherhood.

The takeaway from this is that no one is that by mistake with national security.

There has been a subtle change in the tenor of the reporting on the e-mails in the last few days, even on CNN. Bernie Sanders made a comment to the effect it is a serious issue, when he has been dismissive of the issue in the past.

You are not correct according to the latest information from the State Department. However they could, of course be lying. Most things are possible. You'll have to decide for yourself what the probability is.

From Politico: [UNDERLINING IS MINE] State did not provide details on the subjects of the messages, which represent seven email chains and a total of 37 pages. State spokesman John Kirby said they are part of a set the intelligence community inspector general told Congress contained information that was classified because it dealt with Special Access Programs.

“These documents were not marked classified at the time they were sent,” Kirby said in a statement. He said State is still looking into whether they should have been considered classified at the time they were created.

It wouldn't be skirting the law to use your own server for non classified communication. It is perfectly legal. As you say, the Clintons are not stupid they wouldn't take the risk of intentionally doing anything they knew to be illegal. But of course you conspiracy theorists will enjoy yourselves with this one.
