If you need a new batterie every 100.000km and the cost is 10.000 Dollar for one batterie package (currently its more like 20k) then the cost per 100km is 10 Euro.
By the way, Tesla is a great stock to trade.
The recovery after the first drop was very foreseeable because it was clear Musk would jump out and say how safe these cars are.
Now the next drop when people second think about what happens if they find one burning again ?
I hope the volatility remains in this stock.

everyone , even tesla lovers realize elon embellishes a bit. i would also if i was him.

who cares...the concept/big picture aspects of the car/full electric are so appealing that i expect to help the cause soon.

The concept is 120 years old. The first cars were electric with pretty much the same range than today's electric cars.

Now Elon is promising us soon a 35K car with 200 miles range. I don't really believe in it, at least not with major technological advances. Once he can make such a car, there will be huge market for it....

Even if what you are saying is true, you obviously see a difference don't you?

Gas is almost averaging $100/ 400 kilometres or .25 cents per km whereas hydro is .02 cents per km. Not too mention the massive pollution to the environment caused by the auto. And the fact that the oil companies are going to continue to raise the price of gas until you cry.......!

Or don't you believe that either?

Originally autos were more clean than horse carriages. The horseshit was causing an environmental problem in big cities, and I am not kidding. But anyhow, how did hydro get into the picture and what the hell is it? I thought we were talking electric vs. ICE.

The problem is with Tesla that it is more a fancy gadget for the rich than the solution to cheap but environmentally friendly mass transportation. Under 40K car that can make 200 miles with 1 charge is simply not realistic at this point.

I also don't get the quick battery change stations. Not all batteries are equal, so if I have a brand new car with a brand new battery, why would I want it to exchange at the station for an old battery with 80% efficiency? And Tesla is saying if you do it the other way, your old battery for a new, you have to pay the difference, so where is the cheap recharging in that?

We are a lot closer to it then you think. :) Once the original leases runs out, the used Teslas will be sold below 40K I assume. There will be quite a big demand for them.

Great company to follow regardless.
