Are there any exceptions -
Hate speech?
Inciting violence?
Lies?

No. Because to do that, you have to give someone or some group power to regulate speech. Slippery slope. Instead, the good voices and good speech will overpower the bad speech. For the violence, do what Nextdoor does and require people to register their address / ID to sign up for the site. That does not have to be public information, but people will self-regulate if they know they might be held legally liable for their claims. For lies, the current system is still broken. Most politicians would not be on Twitter if they banned you for lying. For example, Biden claimed in June or July of last year in a speech that if you get the Covid vaccine, you won't get Covid. That got retweeted many times and Twitter did not correct him.
