Twitters profitability doesn’t really matter. Musk is using the standard “Buy, borrow, die” scheme. The interest rates will never equal the tax avoidance on the money had he just cashed out stock. This is the modern modus operendi of massive wealth now - no cash income on paper and untaxed debt against holdings for cash flow.

FYI: you can do a version of this with a whole life policy if you have a few hundred grand.
