We know he won't be purchasing TWTR. We know the words that came from his mouth. We do not know why he will not be purchasing TWTR. Elon's track record does not allow us to place too much faith in the words that come from his mouth.

Plus they just cancelled Jordan Peterson and Dave Rubin for commenting on Jordan Peterson. Ben Shapiro has barely stayed on by commenting on Peterson more cleverly than Rubin. Musk probably figured it the last straw given they know what his wishes are since the last all hands on zoom meeting he had with the company . Maybe he figures it's a lost cause, and would be better off duplicating Weibo, something he's mentioned before. Apparently it will cost him 1 billion, a fair fine for toying with Depp's wife.
 
Looks like it lost 5% on this news, now trading at $34, well under the $54 tendered. He could now be playing hardball and might save billions by re-tendering at $38.

As the recession sets in, and as they continue to ban political dissadents, they will likely drop to $25 or $20, making $38 the new $54.
 
Not really surprised about this. Knew Elon is not going to pay $54+ per share for a bunch of bots and fake accounts. This is just the opening to renegotiations for a lower purchase price.

Good thing I never bought the stock. People warned this could happen.
