I would like to see her start advocating for Repeal of McCarran. That is the best way to address the problem of swaps trading and several other problems as well.Except that Warren isn't going after the Republicans in this article, she's going after the bankers and the Fed. Does that make Warren wrong? Are you saying she should not going after Wall Street, and instead go after Republicans?

swaps trading! Now you nailed it. That's what's wrong with America. Too many goddamn swaps being traded. You can hardly get up in the morning and get a cup of coffee without somebody trading a swap on you. You kids today don't even remember what it was like before McCarran. Kids went to public schools and private doctors, all totally swap free. Ah, those were the days.
Would it matter? Consider self-fulfilling probabilities (I'm morphing the old prophecies bit). If a society consistently views one type of person in even a slightly negative way, over time is it not likely that the view will be internalized by that type, have a negative effect on their attitude, on their performance, and even be passed on to their children? Will that not in turn reinforce the initial negative view held by greater society? Thus, the statistics are visible but the process is ignored.
This isn't just speculation, recall the "blue eyed, brown eyed" classroom experiments.

we are liberal when it comes to you and your life, as long as it doesn't cost me too much. We are extremely conservative when the government wants to get liberal, because that ALWAYS costs me money.
