He was running a fund at one point and had significant positions in some small float companies - to the point where he was required to make SEC filings noting the size range of his holdings. And posting here with folks knowing who he was. There are lots of rules about what you can say and when you can say it in public forums when you are in that spot.

Well I don't know. The first time I heard of 'Kuppy' was in some other thread(s) here where he was being shit-posted at for things such as his risky mining fund that imploded on investors basically going to zero.

Seriously? Isn't that a little bit of hubris due to luck-in-timing?

Lots of SMART people shorted bubbles, and died a nasty death because they were TOO EARLY. Even Dr. Burry almost didn't make it through till the end in the housing crisis, and even after his returns, his own investors gave him hell for the stuff he did to prevent the shorting fund from imploding.

In any case, personally the most interesting high-profile post(s) on ET were from Niederhoffer (the older brother). Unfortunately, they were not exactly always posted at good times and there was a little drama here & there.

For anyone who thinks Mark Cuban ever posted here: I remember reading the posts, and I remember listening to an interview with the actual Mark Cuban. The stories just didn't line up.
