It's the democrats that have brought up the idea of implementing a transation tax on stock trades which would kill stock trading. Do you really want a Democrat in the White House as well? Do you care so little for your career to do that to yourself?

Who knows what experience she'll gather in the next 4 years, but for the moment she is completely unqualified to be Vice President, let alone President.
Her introduction at the RNC was one of the better speeches I have seen, she was very impressive. It's been downhill from there. When she's rehearsed and prepped she's fine, when she's not, it's a disaster. Look at her interview with Katie Couric. Katie Couric isn't exactly the Ghengis Khan of interviewers. She was lobbing Palin softballs and Palin looked like a deer in the headlights and answered like she's just woken up a minute ago.
For under 2 years she's been the governor of Alaska, an important state for it's oil and gas reserves. However, Alaska has a population of 663,000 people. That's not even the south side of Chicago. She's governed a large territory, most of it uninhabitable, but has not governed a large amount of people.
Her 6 years experience as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska does not impress me. Wasilla has a population of approx 8,000 people, that's at best a Billy Joel concert. Not to mention they had a surplus when she became mayor and a deficit when she left office.
While the Troopergate controversy was largely blown out of proportion, she was found to have overstepped her authority, though not criminally. People who abuse their power (think back to the last 8 years) always start off on a small scale. Perhaps that's it for her abuses and she won't venture down that path again. Maybe you're willing to gamble on that, I am not.
Her husband Todd Palin for 7 years was a registered voter for the "Alaska Independence Party". Most people would consider this party's mandate to be sedition. I'm thinking most Americans don't take too kindly to this type of behaviour.
Then there the fact that she preaches abstinence over sex education then has her 17 year old daughter show up unwed and pregnant. Oh the irony.
Bobby Jindal will rip her to shreads in 2012.

I'd add - short sellers represent Smart Money in Bear Markets.
Short-sellers accelerate capital mobility from losers to winners, thus shortening economic contractions or downturns.
When traders can't take share capital from weaker firms to capitalize better competitors - via short sales - economic cycles take much longer to play out = distorted valuations and deeper recessions.
White Guilt
What is white guilt? It is the stigmatization of whites and, more importantly, American institutions with the sin of racism. If they fail to prove the negative, they will be seen as racists. Calling Maureen Dowd a leftist is laughable to any objective observer. She took great pleasure in 2000 eviscerating Al Gore, calling his environmental policies 'wackadoo', all but calling him a 'girly man' (or perhaps she did in more eloquent terms). Maureen Dowd, like Christopher Hitchens, is an opportunist. She can argue left or right as suits her purpose at a particular time. You never know what's going to come out of her mouth until you see it in print. If you weren't so busy trying to pigeonhole everybody into little neat categories and didn't take every criticism of your political favorites as a sign of Armageddon, you'd get that.

Well said, Brandon. However, I think Pabst has been on the white kick for quite a while. He does say he's supported a black politician in the Chicago area in the past. He claims he's not a racist, but if you suggest that he thinks blacks are genetically predisposed to criminal behaviour to a greater degree than whites, his only response will be 'Do you have a link'?
There are different kinds of racists. There are racists who are just confused and aren't evil people, believe it or not. I choose to believe Pabst is one of these. Dan (spect8or) is an example of the other kind.
This thread shoud dispel any doubts. Some of these fine gentlemen have given their acquiescence to the grizzly procedure being used to kill wolves in Alaska be also applied to people dwelling in the inner cities of America to reduce crime. To add insult to injury, they can be seen joking and deriving pleasure while doing so.
