Did I say that? No, because the source is unknown. But it sure would be a first for the oil, gas and coal industries to suddenly micro count all the pollutants on the supply chain. Oil has numerous issues, from extraction to leaks to processing to distribution to utilisation. Gas has numerous issues, from extraction to flares to processing to distribution. Coal gas numerous issues from extraction to processing to distribution. Renewables on the other hand has the same parts manufacturing pollutants, but there's no extraction pollution (except for nuclear), no processing pollution, no distribution pollution (after the power cable install).
Suggesting that oil, gas and coal are no more polluting than renewables is total BS. Today there are numerous examples of renewables supply chains that are far better for the environment than anything past energy suppliers have ever done, primarily because they never cared to include their impact on the environment.
Yesterday's thinking was only to provide energy. Today's thinking is to provide energy sustainably. Just get onboard and stop being the impediment to what's better!

There is no zero-emissions power source. Some are worse than others depending on their use case. Electric ferries and Farm Tractors and Transportation Semi Trucks are a few of the most unprovable use cases for current electric storage technology justification vs petroleum. Prove that wrong. Please!
That ferry when it is in use is not zero-emission.
To state otherwise is to close one's eyes to the truth.

That ferry ain't gonna do shit until a battery is installed.
That battery is not gonna do shit until it is charged.

That charge will need to be delivered to that vehicle.
That ferry is a glorified paperweight untill some power is provided.

As I often repeat to Overnight, we're in an era of rapid transition, 20 or so years, from all ICE to all EV. However, the energy to power all the planes, trains and automobiles will take longer to change from non renewable polluting energies to renewable non polluting energies. Until we figure out how to power our global electric energy needs with renewables, we will have to use oil, gas and coal to produce that electricity. But pointing to the obvious and saying it's all BS is not recognizing this as part of the overall transition to an electrified future powered by 100% renewables.
Some countries or regions that have the sources will probably continue to generate electricity from the oil, gas or coal they have for as long as they remain cheaper than non polluting renewables, but they will increasingly be starved of consumers on one hand and on the other, as Tesla has demonstrated, feed your solar, wind or waves to a battery pack and you solve the no wind, rainy days issue, which will quickly bring the cost of renewables down. How long can Texas remain an oil state when their consumer base is cut in half and they can't operate their vehicles beyond the reaches of disappearing gas stations?
You and I know the challenge isn't technological, it's entirely political. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, goes the adage. And when the machine represents nearly 10% GDP of the state, employs 350k people with high salaries, and finances a national political party, the machine is definitely not broken and no one wants to fix anything. I think that's what's so brilliant about Musk setting up his factories and other businesses in TX. It's giving the non oil industry breathing room to develop and contribute a solid % to the local economy and challenge the oil supremacy.

Yes, if your point is that Shell, an oil company, is hiding behind EVs to suggest they're helping the transition to zero emission, then I agree. The vehicle itself is zero emission but the energy to power it is not. This will be the way Singapore spins its green revolution because its primary industry is oil and gas, fueling the world's ships. Their land surface is too small for solar panels or wind turbines to meet its energy needs so it's likely that their 100% EV transition will be powered by polluting energies for the foreseeable future.
