Because they don’t know how to count in CA. This happens every election in that state. You won’t find many independent-minded people defending their joke system. In 2020, most of the people who pulled through at the end (including Valadao) were Republicans.

They are still looking for votes. Don't you find it strange that a handful of ballots are found in the closest of races and most of the votes go to Democrats?

Actually, MAGA is increasing in strength and you have misread the results totally. Either Trump or DeSantis will be able to carry the message effectively into 2024 and make further gains. The Democrat party is dissolving as we speak. They just don't realize it yet.
