Their 4.9% lead in the popular vote would project a 228-207 lead if things were evenly distributed.

The fallout for Trump…
The Republican base has a way of just trashing their former presidents and it looks like Trump is now in the proverbial barrel.
I think the biggest challenge DeSantis has is getting the Republican base to get rid of their Trump merchandise, ie MAGA hats, flags etc. There can be a sense of defeat for former Trump supporters to get rid of their “merch” but it will seal the deal.
