The laws that require Sec States to keep election evidence for as much as two years are there no matter who decides elections aren't policed enough to withstand gigantic fraud (enough to turn elections over).

They aren't policed enough, so it's only a matter of time before some really bitter people decide it's worth the risk to go whole hog fraud mode. I would say that needed bitterness was stoked hot enough, and enough dog whistles were sirened during Trump's term, that there were enough movers and shakers to be willing to just steal 2020 with a straight face without shame...justified by years of the demonization of Trump, not least of which was the accusation he had stolen 2016 with the help of Putin.

With a House, Senate and White house run by Democrats, only a little progress was made in the Republican State legislatures to close some of the vectors of possible attack. But no one was ever really prosecuted. Having got away with it once, the situation was still ripe to repeat.

My personal feeling is the theft of 2020 did repeat wherever they dared to try it. This is echoed by this journalist over in Ukraine right now. The theft is so bad, the world is now laughing at our beacon of "democracy".
