Election - Market Reaction

Freakin' amazing. I guess he doesn't have a job or anything else that would impede him from "voting a couple of times."

the only thing that mattered was the super-majority in the Senate ... thank God the GOP was able to hold on to enough seats.

I was referring to your other posts in other threads where you made disparaging remarks about minorities. If you've since changed your mind, great.

Now, to be clear. Conservatives are supporting Obama. Again, you need to check your facts. This election will (probably) have the largest number of conservatives to vote Democratic in the last twenty-five years.

Ooouuu. Scary. Socialist. Give me a break. That stuff isn't going to work. By now, even relatives in southeast Ohio would rather have health care and jobs and be called socialist, then have no health care and no jobs and be called capitalist. See, my relatives are your people buddy and you think you know what they want. Well, they're standing up for themselves and saying no more of this crap.

Their taxes are being transferred to pay the bonuses of bank CEOs. I'm not saying that as a leftist or a socialist, but as CAPITALIST. Who the hell believes that Citigroup should be allowed to receive our money, 120 billion in bailout money, when they paid out bonuses of a 108 billion? That's socialism. That's redistribution of the worst kind.

You are a complete fucking idiot. I don't know one conservative supporting Obama. And no, Colin Powell is not a conservative.

Amen.

Even better, Black Panthers (or someone else posing as security guards) at the polls in Philly.

Would you or someone else care to expand on your comments to help us non-US bloggers get a clearer understanding of the implications regarding the Obama win.

Thanks in advance

I'm conservative on many issues. I also voted for Obama.

Reason being that McCain is not a real conservative on any of the issues I care about (budget, immigration, civil liberties), and if we're not voting on concrete issues then Obama was the obvious choice.

If the Democrats get 60 of 100 seats in the Senate then there is no method or procedure the Republicans could use to delay or obstruct legislation in any way. In the Senate one can filibuster legislation, and it takes 60 votes to end a filibuster.

However the chances of that were always pretty low, the Democrats would really have to get 61 seats (Joe Lieberman is counted as a Democrat but isn't actually). It's a pretty rare thing imo.
