There are implications for Trump's VP on this developing situation, I would think.

I am amongst those who believe that Tim Scott is no longer one of the top contenders for VP but if the dems nominate Kamala or act like they eventually will, Trump may counter by choosing Tim. Or at least go through some reconsideration of such even if he does not end out there.

Trump is never going to get much of the black vote, and they're only 13% of the population. Why bother?

Being black alone is not enough. As Kamala has found out and will find out again. But Tim Scott is an excellent surrogate on the trail and appeals to evangelicals in addition to being black.

And although the percentage of black voters is small, just a sliver of that vote in swing states could be pivotal.

I am supporting Burgum, not Scott. Just saying that if the dems go with Kamala at the top, that will probably generate some reconsideration of Tim and/or Byron Donalds. Maybe that reconsideration is only a five minute exercise. Maybe it is longer. Don't know.
