Jack Smith just joined Fani and Alvin Bragg in taking it up the bo-bo.
Trump will either file motions which will take the case past the election, or else the government will attempt to try him right before the election which will have the stench of a banana republic attempt to remove an opponent- driving the Trump vote through the roof.
If he does not go to trial before the election, when Trump is elected he won't even bother to pardon himself. His new attorney general will just drop the case. Which is good because the new attorney general needs to be busy prosecuting Biden(s).
How the Supreme Court just threw Trump’s 2024 trial schedule into turmoil
Trump is now unlikely to face criminal charges for election subversion until late summer or fall, at the earliest.

wrap it up:

Some legal experts had predicted that at least the required four justices would want to weigh in on whether presidential acts can be criminally prosecuted — a question Trump has also raised in his separate Florida and Georgia trials. But simply by taking up the matter now, the high court has effectively helped Trump achieve his goal of pushing back at least the D.C. trial, which originally was scheduled to start next week. The former president has repeatedly pressed to postpone all his trials until after the November election, raising the possibility that if he is elected he could try to have the federal cases dismissed.
Wednesday’s announcement means there are now three cases before the Supreme Court that could directly impact Trump’s legal and political future: The justices are also considering whether he can be barred from the ballot because of his conduct around the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, and they will hear a challenge in Aprilto the use of an obstruction charge against participants in that riot — the outcome of which could affect the charges Trump faces in D.C. as well.
Mr. Trump’s emergency application asking the Supreme Court to intervene had been fully briefed since Feb. 15, and the court’s delay in addressing it suggested that the justices differed about how to proceed. It takes four votes to add a case to the court’s docket but five to grant a stay, and that math may have played a role in the court’s calculations.
So you are claiming that Trump attempting an insurrection to seize power is "within his role and powers of the Presidency". Well I have news for you, it is not. it is a crime and Trump has no immunity from prosecution for his crimes. If Trump does have immunity for his crimes then every President can ignore the law at will.

Just keep doing what you are doing. Because if you and your ilk want to see Donald J. Trump elected again then you are doing all the right things.
you missed a person or more in your stickling...Me being the stickler I am can’t let blame pass on the DOJ. They sat on this case for two years before any real movement happened. If anything their lackadaisical attitude is the real source of the delay.
I'm not saying "pull a Trump and go after him". But he's certainly hinting at appointing an AG whose priorities won't be political corruption
& the Dems fall in line (if there's malfeasance, why stop?):

Democrats tell Supreme Court they might drop fight for Mueller documents because Trump lost the election
The committee had justified its request for the normally closely-guarded grand jury materials on the basis that the records might help with an investigation into whether to impeach the president for a second time.
"The Committee's investigations into misconduct by President Trump, oversight of agency activities during the Trump Administration, and consideration of related legislative reforms have remained ongoing," wrote Douglas Letter, the general counsel for the House of Representatives.
"But a new Congress will convene in the first week of January 2021, and President-elect Biden will be inaugurated on January 20, 2021," he added. "Once those events occur, the newly constituted Committee will have to determine whether it wishes to continue pursuing the application for the grand-jury materials that gave rise to this case."
weak Joe, really weak. Pack the court and seat miquetoast Garland in it. Give us a bulldog for AG
