Both conservative and traditional liberal jurisprudence commentators see this scenario as one where Trump is being bludgeoned for political purposes. Even those who support the imposition of fine/penalty at a some level do not support the over the top "get Biden's main political opponent aspect.
Not only is it the size of the penalty, but the fact that the appeals court cuts him off from appealing without liquidating the bulk of his assets first. Thus clearly attempting to put up due process roadblocks to add further barriers. Those buildings and assets could be subjce to lien or whatever and are not going anywhere in the meantime.
As one commentator said, it is like telling someone who is being foreclosed upon or are trying to defend themselves from a taking of their house, that they have to sell their house first in order to appeal the case. It's bullshit and un-american- as the dems like it. I would not want this same legal principle or action taken against any lefty dem in a working class neighborhood.

Between the 2 big primaries (SC and MI) more than half the number of voters who showed up in 2020 did not show up in 2024.Not a good sign for a Party that must have high turnout to win.
